I AM INTERESTED IN THE HISTORY OF RADNOR COTTAGE,FOLKESTONE WHERE I THINK MY 3X GT AUNT WAS A SERVANT IN 1886/87. I WOULD LIKE TO FIND OUT MORE ABOUT THE FAMILY LIVING THERE AT THE TIME. I have been researching ELLEN MILLER who originally came from Long Melford in Suffolk. According the census's she never married and her occupation was mainly in service. I found her on the 1911 Census age 69 at a place called "UPLANDS" in Sevenoaks. She was a retired servant living on independent means. The house appears to belong to a wealthy family; a widow named MARIAN BOGLE-FRENCH age 87 and who appears to be her daughter, LOUISA ROSE BOGLE-FRENCH age 56.

1. Does anyone know if this place still exists as the address given is perhaps less than full and what it is like?
2. Also does anyone know about the Bogle-French's and what they did?
3. I have been trying to find a death for Ellen as well and of course Ellen Miller is a common name; however I have found a death for an Ellen Miller in 1930, Bromley Kent (she was living in Bromley in 1901). As Bromley is not too far from Sevenoaks, I am wondering if there was a hospital there that she may have gone to?
Any info gratefully received.

I was wondering if anyone could give me any information on the field in ovenden road  on the south west edge of chevening park. There is part of a large flint and brick wall visable from the road along with a small curious building in the woodland near the edge of the road i have found many hints of the existance of a manor house on that site but would really like to know more. ive found links with the freminghams, isleys stanhopes, william grastett all once owning the seat of ovenden im sure from what ive read they dont mean the overney green farm.

Thank you for your reply. There does not seem to be much information about 'Haynes' and Brasted.
There is a file on the mills, in Sevenoaks library, which has a photograph of the two mills; they must have been a picturesque feature of Brasted in the nineteenth century. Francis Haynes had been the miller in 1820, but it is not known if his son, another Francis Haynes continued the business.   Haynes Cottages  are on the main road through Brasted next to the old Alms Houses.
  Rose Cottage is in Church Road next to the Bull Inn I think. They are near to the mill, however I cnnot find ny trace of Haynes as millers. For information about Ann see Brasted Parish Chest as there is information there connected to Thomas Coomber

Looking for any information regarding: William Fisher c. 1819 (Elham) m. Mary Hunt c. 1826 in Newington 12 Dec 1847 listed father as Edward Tucker (perhaps of Waltham) c. 1801.
A John Fisher witnessed marriage. Mary Hunts parents were Thomas Hunt c. 1792 and Charlotte Champion c. 1796 both thought to be Stelling or Stanford parishes. There are Fishers and others in Elmstead however we were led to believe they were Elham area. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks so much.

The Old House at Home is now a private house . If you look on Facebook- Westerham Treasure Chest site you may find a picture there or if you go to www.westerhamtreasurechest.co.uk you will see a Tour Guide with the now and then pictures. The booklet costs just £1.50 and can be downloaded (45 pages) and all the proceeds go to Hospice in the Weald Charity. Any queries email from the site. Hope this helps
