Speed calming in Brasted

   I am part of a small committee in Burwash Common/Weald (which is on the A265 east of Heathfield). We have a major problem with traffic going through our hamlet with a speed limit of 50 mph and are trying to get this reduced and to see how some traffic calming measures might be introduced. We gather that your village successfully campaigned for traffic calming some years ago and wondered if you might be able to share your experience with us. I would be quite happy to come up to your village to talk with anyone that might feel able to help us.
